B2 Hotel
Miami, Florida by Steven Skelley & Thomas Routzong Downtown Miami, Florida is world-famous for its' unique style - a blend of urban chic, accessibility, creativity, great food and world-class entertainment. Who wouldn't want to be right in the heart of it all? You can! The B2 Hotel puts you right there. Their motto even says it, "The B2 - we’re in the center of it all…you should b2!" We spoke with Dario Arana, the B2 Experience Manager. "Our brand has several properties. B2 is a city resort. The B Resort is in Orlando. We are looking to expand into the top 25 U.S. markets. We buy older properties and totally redecorate everything into a very sleek style." The B2's website describes the property this way, "A chic, stylish escape in the heart of the city, b2 miami downtown takes its design cue from Miami’s elegantly urban vibe. Sleek designer guest rooms, exceptional cuisine by renowned restaurateur Jeffery Chodorow and breathtaking views of Biscayne Bay make b2 the most fashionable place to b." During our visit to the B2 in downtown Miami, we found it to be an excellent update and upgrade for an older property in a fantastic location. Though they could not obviously remove walls and expand rooms because of the original hotel's design, they did a thorough job of redecorating and updating in every other way. "A chic and stylish escape in the heart of the city" is truly a perfect description of the B2 Miami property today. "The B2 has 242 rooms. Our website has a full description of every type of room," Dario Arana told us. B2 room categories include Chic, Captivating, Stunning, B Enhanced and one Master Suite. B2 rooms offer either bay or city views. In-room amenities include: * 37" or 42" HD LCD Smart TVs with web capabilities * The Blissful Bed - B Hotels & Resorts® signature bedding package * Telephones with MP3 compatibility * AVEDA bath products * Individual climate control * Iron and ironing board * Alarm clock * In-room safe Free WiFi high-speed Internet access is provided throughout the hotel including guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces but the management does set limits on the amount of time you can remain logged in before having to login again. Because the B2 is a downtown property, parking is a challenge. So, the B2 offers $10 daily parking and $31 valet parking per day for overnight parking with unlimited In/Out privileges. It is always nice to have your car brought right to the door for you. But, with the B2's location, a car may not even be necessary. Allie Weiner, B Hotels & Resorts Director of Brand Programs and Communications said, "Part of the uniqueness of our brand is walkability. We want to be in places where you can go explore the area and never have to get in your car if you don't want to." The B2 in downtown Miami is - * Walking distance to American Airlines Arena and Bayside Marketplace * Less than 3 miles from the Design District, Wynwood, Midtown, Brickell and PortMiami * 4 miles to South Beach * 8 miles to Miami International Airport * 27 miles to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport * A short drive to Jungle Island There is a beautiful waterfront park just across the street with a fountain water display, ample scenic walkways, an amphitheater that offers free concerts and even a site for trapeze artists to practice. Where else can you see that? Want a quick cup of coffee before your morning walk? There is a 7-Eleven on the same block. Need a prescription filled or some sunblock? There is a CVS pharmacy right across the street. The Bayside Marketplace offers a variety of dining and shopping options from chain restaurants and brand name stores to kiosk vendors and free live music. If you want to enjoy a Biscayne Bay cruise, you'll find several available literally steps away from the shopping and dining. Being in downtown Miami, B2 guests have accessibility to a variety of dining options but if you don't want to leave the B2, you don't have to. The on-site Biscayne Tavern is a "three-meal gastropub featuring a variety of craft beers." We'll let Dario Arana explain, "We have an upscale tavern, craft beers, and gourmet dishes. We get a lot of business people who come in after work for dinner and drinks. Plus, there is always something going on in Miami - which is really good for us. This place was filled during World Cup Soccer." And - if don't want to even leave your comfortable room - B2 offers in-room dining which they say is "the best way to b nourished in the privacy of your guest room or suite." The B experience is well planned. Veronica Miranda, B Hotels & Resorts Director of Brand Services told us, "The B experience incorporates characteristics and cultural influences of the destination and the surrounding environment. The design of each hotel is unique, modern, stylish and accentuates the hotel’s physical attributes." If you are looking for a Miami getaway or south Florida business trip and you want to be right in the heart of it all in a beautifully refurbished, stylish hotel with excellent on-site food, we highly recommend the B2 in downtown Miami. It is in the center of it all and you should b2! The B2 Miami Downtown is located at 146 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, FL 33132. Their phone is 305-358-4555 or toll free 1-888-662-4683.
