Laugh your way to solving a crime
by Steven Skelley and Thomas Routzong
You don’t have to be a fan of CSI, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS or even Sherlock Holmes to enjoy a laugh filled evening trying to solve a zany murder mystery at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows. There are one-liners, sight gags and audience participation twists to keep you laughing and guessing until the end.
How It Works:
After checking in at the bar / gift shop / hors d’oeuvres area, you’ll be called table by table to one of three theatres. In the theater, you will be greeted and seated by the costumed characters that will appear in your murder mystery. While the theater is fills with your dinner mates, you’ll be served salads, dinner rolls, crackers and cheese spread. Remember to “watch for anything or anyone suspicious!”
Once everyone is seated you will witness a 45 minute comedy mystery where clues are presented to help you solve the crime.
Don’t be surprised if you or one of your tablemates is brought on stage as one of the characters. Ours was and he ended up covered in lipstick kiss marks!
Everyone at your table becomes a team that comes up with questions for the “live interrogation” where the detective moves around the room allowing a spokesperson from each table to ask questions of the cast.
The Food:
Once you’ve enjoyed your salads, dinner rolls, crackers and cheese spread, you will be served honey-glazed Cornish game hen, sweet potato, vegetables and cranberry sauce, or prime rib dinner with baked potato and vegetables, or four cheese lasagna. All meals come with a "mystery dessert" and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.
The Murder Mysteries:
We enjoyed “Kim and Scott Tie the Knot.” It is a laugh-a-minute take on a Mafia wedding. The characters are perfectly silly and the cast seems to enjoy every second on stage and in the audience.
After Hour Shows:
Be sure to catch one of the other shows offered at the theater. There’s something for everyone.
We sat in the front row for Nick’s Parlor Tricks. The handsome and talented Nick Comis brought guests on stage (including someone from our group) and astounded us all with illusions that seemed unexplainable.
